LEVEL 1-2

Take a break from your day to fuel your body, mind & spirit through movement. You set the intention for this class, which offers opportunities to either move faster to build some heat and boost stamina/energy or move slower to focus on awakening strength and calming energy.

LEVEL 2-3

The act of burning sage is an ancient spiritual practice meant to cleanse and purify a space. In another sense, the word “sage” is used to indicate that which is wise through reflection or experience. In this yoga series, both meanings come into play. A powerful practice of the body, this class will challenge strength, flexibility, and balance. An equally powerful practice of the mind, this class is designed to cultivate discipline, curiosity, and understanding of self through its intensified and complex sequences.

FRIDAYS

LEVEL 1

Slow flow and let go to bring more chill into your weekly routine. We’ll take time preparing the body to move through asana that support postural alignment while creating space for mindfulness practice and breath awareness. Yoga blocks are useful for restorative poses, but we’ll get creative if you don’t have blocks. Chairs, blankets and other household items may be used to support your practice.

LEVEL 1-2

You made it through the work week! Treat yourself with some time to unwind, let go of some of the accumulated stresses of the week, and ease into your weekend. Join Anna and our supportive Yoga Lab community for this happy hour of gentle and joyful movement and relaxation to unwind in body and mind.

SATURDAYS

LEVEL 2

Awaken your real core strength from the deepest to surface layers. This class will change how you stand and move in life literally and metaphorically. We begin with powerful breathing to light the inner fire of the core, followed by strengthening of surrounding core musculature. Movements and postures focus on stability to provide surrounding joint strength and support. It’s a next level power yoga class that goes beyond isometric holds to incorporate the benefits of eccentric training. Don’t be surprised by some sweat despite it’s slow pace.

SUNDAYS

LEVEL 2-3

This flow is designed to provide new opportunities for challenge in your practice both physically and in the way you think about or approach those movements.

LEVEL 1-2

We live in stressful times. Wouldn’t it be nice to take an hour out of your day to unplug and recharge? In Yoga Unplugged, a class suitable for all levels led by Yoga Lab co-founder Professor Jeremy David Engels, we will move our bodies around the mat in order to tap into the stillness that resides just below the noisy din of daily life. Unplug from your phone. Unplug from external stressors. Unplug from narratives about what you are and are not capable of. Unplug to recharge for life off the mat.

“One of the basic reasons many people take up yoga is to change something about themselves: to be able to think more clearly, to feel better, and to be able to act better today than they did yesterday in all areas of life. In these endeavors yoga can be of great help, and it requires no prerequisites that must be fulfilled before we set out on this path.”
T.K.V. Desikachar, The Heart of Yoga
“The work of cultivating mindfulness is also play. It is far too serious to take too seriously—and I say this in all seriousness!—if for no other reason than because it really is about our entire life. It makes sense for a lightness of being and playfulness to be key elements of the practice of mindfulness, because they are key elements of well-being.”
John Kabat-Zinn, Mindfulness for Beginners
